Studio Smack finalist Dutch Design Awards
Studio Smack has been selected as finalist for the Dutch Design Awards 2010 in the category Best Motion Design with their work ‘Pimp My Planet'. The winners will be announced during the festive Award Show on October 23, 2010.
About Studio Smack
In 2005 Studio Smack kicked off with Ton Meijdam, Thom Snels and Béla Zsigmond. In 2008 Dennis Elbers joined to complete the team. All four of them studied at the AKV|St.Joost in Breda (Art Academy). Their animated films gained awards at international film festivals. Studio Smack produces work that in the first analysis has an autonomous value, but often also responds to developments in society; the so-called Design for Debate.

About DDA
The finalists in this 8th edition of internationally recognised professional awards have been selected from more than 700 projects by committees comprised of experts in the design field. The winners - competing for a total of 17 Awards in the main categories of Communication, Product, and Spatial - are chosen by an international jury and introduced to the design world during the Award Show on October 23, 2010, together with the winners of Awards in the following special categories: The Golden Eye (most successful design of 2010), the Rado Young Designer Award (incentive award for young talent), the Best Client Award, the Public Award of the DDA and the BNO - Piet Zwart Prize - Life Time Achievement Award of the DDA. The designs of all finalists and winners will subsequently be exhibited in the Brainport Greenhouse on the Stadhuisplein in Eindhoven during the Dutch Design Week.
